ABOUT
Fitz Swing is a student big band which was formed in 1990 at Fitzwilliam College, but quickly expanded to take musicians from all corners of the University. We play a variety of music ranging from classic swing tunes from Count Basie to other jazz, funk and latin, so we have music appropriate for many occasions.
We play many gigs around Cambridge and have built up a reputation as one of the university's most prestigious big bands. We play at a large number of may balls every year, as well as other events and concerts. We have recorded CDs and regularly go on international tours during the summer.
Our members include two talented vocalists who sing solos and duets with the big band. We are also available to play with a reduced number of people for smaller-scale events.
